Applications of BBa_K5334019

We used CU2#19 aptamer in LFA application, to detect counterfeit Avastin (anti-cancer drug, containing Bevacizumab).When bevacizumab is present in the sample, it competes with DNA probes at the test line to bind with the aptamer-gold nanoparticles, leading to a visible band only at the control line. In the absence of bevacizumab, the aptamer nanoparticles bind to the DNA probes at both the test and control lines, showing two bands. Aptamers in this system are crucial for specific binding and competition, enabling precise detection of the target analyte.(Figure 1)

The aptamer demonstrated high sensitivity to bevacizumab, and its ease of storage and transportation has proven the relevance of this alternative to antibodies.
